Two indicators to control chain elongation:
a) if the gauge indicates an elongation index of more than 0,075 mm between the link and the link, the chain must be replaced rapidly to avoid wear on the sprockets
b) if the gauge indicates an elongation index of more than 0,10 mm between the link and the link, the chain and sprockets must be replaced simultaneously to avoid wear on the sprockets
