Children's bicycle helmets: how to buy the right size

We've probably bought helmets for our children, but we're always afraid of getting the size wrong and having to change it. So we thought we'd tell you a simple trick to help you buy the right size helmet for your child.

What you need and how to choose the right size

All children's bicycle helmets are classified according to their circumference, which is usually a range of centimetres. This is because all children's helmets have a small wheel on the back of the neck that adjusts the helmet, tightening and widening it according to the child's head so that it is held together but not too tight or too loose.

In order to measure the circumference of the child's head correctly, we recommend that you take a simple woollen thread or similar and measure the circumference of the child's head halfway up the forehead with the thread; once you have determined the measurement with the thread, you can place it on a measuring tape and the measurement is taken.

In this way it will be very difficult to get the size of the child's bicycle helmet wrong.

Teach your child to use a bicycle helmet from a very young age.

In Italy the use of helmets is not yet compulsory for children under the age of 14, unlike many other EU countries, but it is good to educate children about the use and importance of helmets from an early age, making them understand how important it is for safety to ride a bicycle using a protective helmet.

On our shop you will find bike helmets for children and young people of all ages, you will find different types: helmets baby boy, helmets bike TV characters, helmets for MTB child and helmets city boy and much more!
