Bicycle seat for safety with your child

If we want to go for relaxing rides with our child in complete safety, we must equip our bicycle with a child seat that is approved in accordance with EEC regulations.

It is of fundamental importance that your child is well protected and cared for.

For this reason, approved bicycle seats must have certain characteristics such as: they must be equipped with safety belts that keep the child securely fastened to the bike, a supportive wraparound backrest that does not allow the child to bounce around during bike rides; they must also be equipped with armrests to support and protect the child's feet from getting hurt by the wheels, which is a very delicate matter, so we recommend that everyone pay close attention to the child's feet and to the spinning wheel; there must be protections that prevent the child's feet from getting caught in the wheel while pedalling.

There are two different types of child seats:

• front bicycle seat: indicated for transporting children up to a maximum of 15 kg, the front seat is attached to the bicycle by means of its supplied quick-release attachment that also allows for quick removal.
• rear bicycle seat: can carry children up to a maximum of 22/25 kg who are no more than 8 years old; there are rear bicycle seats that can carry up to 35 kg. It can be mounted either on the frame or on the carrier.

It is only when buying a bike seat that you should check what type of bike seat you need and which solution to choose: frame-mounted or carrier-mounted?

We also advise all mothers and fathers to make your children wear a bicycle helmet, an additional protection that will allow them to ride in complete safety and serenity.
